Many of you may know that Castos was not my first business in the podcasting world. I started over 5 years ago with a productized service business called PodcastMotor.
The mission at PodcastMotor was simple: Take the time consuming, difficult work of editing and production off our customers plates so they can focus on running their business and growing their brands.
In those 5 years we have been fortunate to work with many of the best podcasters and brands in the industry, like James Altucher, Buffer, CoSchedule, and Elementor. In that time we evolved with the industry and learned A LOT about what makes a good podcast, and what doesn’t.
And earlier in 2020 we decided that now was the time to bring that PodcastMotor team and service right into the Castos platform, as Castos Productions.
Many of you know all-too-well the pain of editing and producing your shows on a regular basis. The unfortunate reality is that this time, effort, and skill is the reason that some of us stop podcasting altogether. Such a shame.
Now with the PodcastMotor service fully integrated into the Castos platform as Castos Productions, you can take all of the heavy lifting of editing and producing your podcast off your plate, and entrust your show to a team of seasoned professionals.
If you’re a PodcastMotor customer here are a few questions you might have about how this change affects us working with you on your show:
How do I communicate with the PodcastMotor team going forward?
Exactly the same way you did before. Our email address at [email protected] will remain the place where existing PodcastMotor customers can communicate with our team about your show.
Can I use the same Dropbox file sharing setup as I had been doing?
Yes, absolutely. We’ll work with shows on an individual basis through the next few months to transition over to using the Castos Productions workflow (spoiler alert: it’s faster and easier than the Dropbox/Email setup). But for now if you’ve been using Dropbox or Google Drive to send your episode files to the PodcastMotor team you can continue following that same workflow.
Will my billing or plans change?
Not if you don’t want it to. All of the existing PodcastMotor subscriptions and one-off episode plans will be honored going forward.
But, if you’d like to move your billing to the Castos Productions pay-as-you-go model you certainly can. Contact our team at [email protected] so we can help you with that migration.
Is the team handling my show the same, or different?
Everything about the audio editors, show note writers, account managers, and production team is exactly the same. So your podcast will continue getting the best-in-class service you’re used to from PodcastMotor, just under a different name.
I have other questions, is there someone I can talk to?
Absolutely. You can reach out to me directly at [email protected] and use the subject line “PodcastMotor question” and I’ll get back to you personally straight away.
