Hacktoberfest 2019

Every year, for the month of October, the folks over at Digital Ocean host a month long event aimed at supporting open source projects, called Hacktoberfest.

The goal of the event is to help drive the growth of open source by making positive contributions to the ever-growing community surrounding open source projects.

The first 50 000 who complete the Hacktoberfest challenge, of having 4 pull requests merged during the month of October, will receive a limited edition Hacktoberfest fest shirt.

Castos has been involved with Hacktoberfest for two years now, and we’re excited to take part again this year.

Our development team is actively looking for either WordPress or Laravel projects we can contribute to. If you know if any projects that need PHP specific experience, leave a note in the comments, so we can check them out.

We’ve also updated our public Github repository for Seriously Simple Podcasting by labeling issues that would be a good fit for the Hacktoberfest event. We’re happy to help guide the the development of these pull requests, so if you find one you’d like to work on, but you need some specific help, leave a note in the issue’s comments area, and we’ll do our best to help you out.
