1. Hurdle
Each episode of Hurdle features someone who made it through a difficult time in their life (a hurdle, so to speak) by taking their wellness seriously, mostly through fitness, mediation, and healthy eating. Host Emily Abbate was a fitness editor at SELF magazine who has also worked with GQ and SHAPE. She shares her story of her dramatic weight loss, and her blunt honesty and no-nonsense approach to solving problems will help you lead a happier life.
2. Ben Greenfield Fitness
The title of Ben Greenfield Fitness is a bit misleading because he covers into a lot more than just fitness. He dives into pretty much any health topic, like anti-aging, nutrition, weight loss, fasting, nootropics, light therapy, etc. Ben interviews medical and health experts to pair real science with his own experience and self-experimentation. He even touches on topics that are outside traditional western medicine.

3. Dr. Ruscio Radio
If you love to dig into the science of nutrition, you’ll want to check out Dr. Ruscio Radio. This doctor sticks to the evidence when it comes to health, nutrition, and functional medicine, but he still finds ways to explain it so us laymen can understand.
4. Rich Roll Podcast
Rich Roll is a big name in the vegan and plant-based lifestyle communities. On his podcast, he dives deep into all things wellness with some of the best minds in fitness, health, nutrition, and spirituality. He tries to have intimate conversations, rather than simple interviews. His goal is to “provoke, educate, inspire and empower you to discover, uncover, unlock and unleash your best, most authentic self.”
5. Model Health Show
Model Health Show is inspired by host Shawn Steven’son incredible health journey. He was able to defeat chronic pain from a degenerative disease by drastically changing his lifestyle. On his show, he interviews experts, so he doesn’t push fads. He pushes his listeners to understand the science behind nutrition and fitness, even when discussing hard-to-quantify problems like stress and depression. His masterclass episodes are the best!
6. Science Vs
Gimlet Media’s plucky Science Vs takes aim at “fads, trends, and the opinionated mob to find out what’s fact, what’s not, and what’s somewhere in between.” They fact check trendy ideas and myths, then replace them with hard science. Can essential oils cure migraines? Do detox teas improve your health? Science V tackles it all.
7. Mental Illness Happy Hour
It’s no secret that there’s a taboo surrounding mental illness, but comedian Paul Gilmartin is trying to change that stigma. His podcast is an “hour of honesty about all the battles in our heads.” It’s full of intimate conversations with guests in the creative arts share their darkest fears, compulsive behaviors, and past trauma. Some of this content can be a bit heavy and hard to hear, but Gilmartin and his guests approach each topic with hope and humor.

8. Happier with Gretchen Rubin
Happier with Gretchen Rubin “explores human nature to understand how we can make our lives better.” The host, Gretchen Rubin, is a bestselling self-help author, wants to help people find the better version of themselves, whether that means being more creative, more productive, healthier, or just happier. After all, there’s no one-size-all solution to happiness. She draws from personal stories, cutting-edge science, and popular culture to help you improve your life in countless ways.
9. Food Psych
Food Psych is a show dedicated to intuitive eating, the practice of breaking away from the diet culture in favor of listening to your body’s internal cues. She talks with health and psychology professionals, anti-dieting experts, and body positivity leaders about our relationships with food. She dives deep into how we think about food, not just what we eat. It’s an honest podcast about acceptance, weight stigma, eating disorders, and “restrictive behaviors that often masquerade as wellness and fitness.”
10. Bulletproof Radio
Bulletproof Radio host (and creator of Bulletproof Coffee) Dave Asprey coins himself the “Father of Biohacking.” His mission is to empower the world with information, technology, knowledge to unlock the potential within themselves, at any age. He interviews CEOs, experts, and scientists, and podcasts about his experience losing 100 pounds, improving his sleep cycle, upgrading his brain, and making himself a better person in every way. “You must build practices that prevent you from falling prey to those basic instincts that make you a short-term thinker,” he says.
11. Huberman Lab
The Huberman Lab podcast is a science podcast hosted by Dr. Andrew Huberman, a neuroscientist at Stanford University. In each episode, Dr. Huberman discusses topics related to neuroscience, psychology, and human performance, often featuring experts in the field as guests. The podcast aims to make complex scientific concepts accessible and applicable to everyday life. Topics covered include sleep, stress, vision, and more, with a focus on practical tips for optimizing brain function and overall health.
12. Ten Percent Happier with Dan Harris

Nutrition Facts with Dr. Greger uses an interest podcast format. Each episode is only about 15 minutes, which makes it a perfect addition to any busy person’s queue. Dr. Greger (who sounds just like your a-bit-too-excited high school science teacher) explains nutrition concepts in a no-nonsense, facts-only manner.
