With this, you can submit your podcast directly from your Castos dashboard to Apple Podcasts.
Whether you’re launching your first podcast or your 20th, you can now get your podcast live in Apple Podcasts right from your Castos dashboard. Without ever logging in to the Apple Podcasts Connect dashboard.
With this integration, Castos will submit your podcast on your behalf. With direct Show Submission, your show will reside in Castos’ Apple account until you’re ready to claim it.
Along with the Direct Submission functionality, Apple is rolling out the Claim Your Show ability. With this, similar to other platforms you may be familiar with, you can now claim your podcast from any other Apple account within Podcasts Connect, and move it seamlessly to your own Apple Account.
Why should you care about your podcast being in your own Apple account?
Well, if you’d like to log in to see things like episode retention for episodes listened through the Apple Podcasts mobile or desktop app, then you’ll need your podcast to be in your own Apple Account. Similarly for advanced features like Apple Podcast Subscriptions.
Submitting Your Podcast To Apple Podcasts
To get started with the Direct Submission capability, navigate to the Settings -> Distribution area of your Castos dashboard.
There you’ll see the distribution status for your show on all of the major podcasting platforms, including Apple Podcasts.
Select the Settings button, and complete the three required fields for Apple Podcasts:
- Third Party Rights – does your show have the right to publish third party content
- Frequency – How often are you planning to publish your podcast
- Location – Do you want your podcast to be available in all, or just some specified locations
Once you’ve made these selections, click “Submit To Apple Podcasts” to get your show live.
This process takes just a few minutes, and you’ll see a link to your podcast in your Castos dashboard when it’s available.
Claiming An Existing Podcast
If you already have a podcast live in Apple Podcasts and would like to move it into your own Apple account, you can now do so automatically via the Claim Your Show process.
With this, Apple will provide a special code to insert into your Castos dashboard.
