What is a private podcast?
A private podcast is a show only invited listeners can hear. On Castos, each subscriber gets their own private RSS feed that works in their podcast app, and the show stays out of public directories like Apple Podcasts and Spotify.
Which podcast apps work with private feeds?
Apple Podcasts, Overcast, Pocket Casts, Castro, and most other apps that let you add a show by its feed URL. Spotify doesn't support private feeds. On Growth and up, listeners can also use the Castos mobile app and skip the feed link entirely.
How do I add subscribers automatically?
Connect Stripe or Kit in Castos, use Zapier with almost any other tool, or sync MemberPress, Paid Memberships Pro, WooCommerce Memberships, or LifterLMS through the Seriously Simple Podcasting plugin on WordPress. You can always add subscribers by hand, too.
What happens when someone cancels?
Their individual feed is revoked, and their podcast app stops receiving episodes. Nobody else is affected, and nobody needs a new link.
How many private subscribers can I have?
